The formation of the Vietnam Worker’s Party (Đảng Lao Động) was an important step for Hồ Chí Minh’s control in government. It was the first time that there was communist influence in the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV) government since the dissolution of the Indochinese Communist Party in November 1945. Hồ Chí Minh chaired the Central Executive Committee of the Worker’s Party from its creation until his death in September 1969.
