Fine Arts School of Indochina is the direct translation of the original French Ecole des Beaux-Arts de l’Indochine (EBAI) and Vietnamese Trường Mỹ thuật Đông Dương, which were the official names given to the school in its original founding decree of 27 October 1924, signed by Governor General of Indochina, Martial Henri Merlin. Some texts refer to it in English as the Fine Arts College of Indochina (FACI).
