The Truth (Sự Thật) was a newspaper that served as the precursor to The People (Nhân Dân), the official newspaper of the Communist Party of Vietnam: “the voice of the Party, State and people of Vietnam.” The Truth was set up in the 1940s. Painter Phan Kế An was a regular contributor during the First Indochina War (1946-1954).
